Recognising the Jumps

Half Loop (bo 1 Tbi)

The half loop is similar to the loop, excepting only that lands on the “wrong” foot.  In spite of its name, the half loop actually turns a full revolution.  Instead of landing on the conventional RBO edge however, the skater lands on the INSIDE edge of the LEFT foot.  So it launches from an RBO edge, turns a full revolution, then lands on the LBI edge.  The jump is rarely done “solo”, but is quite commonly done as part of a combination (for instance Axel-Half Loop-double Salchow).
